Young People

Our workshops, 1:1 mentoring, and group support provide opportunities for 200 young people. Allowing them to share their voice, and to gain useful skills to support them in shaping the future of the workplace.

Investing in tomorrow's leaders

At Q5, we are passionate about helping young people thrive as they prepare to become the future workforce.

The Q5 Foundation allowed us to setup the Youth PanelFutures Taskforce, and University Consulting. These programmes provide young people with the opportunity to build skills, share their voices, and gain real-world experience. Empowering the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators.

What is the Youth Panel?

Every summer, we run an application process open to all 15 to 18-year-olds in the UK. We select a panel of up to 14 young people who convene four times a year at our London office or virtually.

The panel allows us to generate rich qualitative insight about what young people want from their future workplace. Adding to the thinking and advice we provide to clients. In 2023/2024, we covered topics such as the world of work, multi-generational workforce, Diversity & Inclusion, and sustainability.

Panellists gain valuable experience and knowledge about how consulting works and join the ever-growing Youth Panel alumni. Allowing them to remain connected to Q5 and each other.

What is the Futures Taskforce?

The Q5 Futures Taskforce is an annual program that brings together students from different universities and disciplines. The task force allows students to explore future megatrends and participate in interactive workshops in our London office. Allowing them to share multidisciplinary thinking and insights into the latest academic research.

In 2023, the Futures Taskforces discussed themes such as the future of happiness at work, inclusion, learning and belonging. But the hottest topic by far was the impact of AI and automation on the workplace.

The Futures Taskforce is a major component of Q5’s research and development. Its output contributes to how we manage and respond to change in our areas of expertise.

What is University Consulting?

We work with a global network of university students providing pro bono consulting services to charities and non-profits. Q5 mentors and supports volunteer student consultants at Bath and Nottingham universities. Advising them on their pro bono projects and delivery.

180 Degrees Consulting is the world’s largest consultancy for non-profits and social enterprises. 180DC provides high-quality consulting services to social impact organisations, to help improve and expand their services. University students deliver these consultancy projects under the support and guidance of management consultants.

Q5 has supported 180 Degrees Consulting since 2018, working with the University of Bath and the University of Nottingham. We offer coaching, training sessions, placements, pop-up experience, interview preparation and project support.

We have supported over 200 students and run numerous training events, providing funding and placement to the students. We want to extend our work with universities to support students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.

Testimonials

What our students say about us

“The leadership training session delivered by Q5 was an excellent addition to our 180 degrees consulting training programme. It really gave our team leaders the opportunity to engage with the team and with professionals to continue developing their own skills, while allowing myself and our president to continue developing our own abilities to match and really ensure that our team leaders and and our assistant team leaders work well together, which is essential to any project.”

Omer Samuel, Management student at University of Nottingham

“A big thank you to you all at Q5 for all of the mentorship and training sessions that you provide. One thing that I really loved about all of the training sessions was how engaging they were, having all of our 180 degrees consultants split into different break out rooms and having activities throughout the session and they were all really engaging and memorable for consultants.”

Sulaimaan Mahmood, Economics student at University of Nottingham
